The 8th annual All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) that ran January 12 – 15, 2023 in Senegal saw Nigeria’s Davido clinch “Best African Collaboration”, “Best Duo or Group in African Electro”, and “Best Male Artist in African Inspirational Music” awards.
Egyptian rapper Marwan Moussa won two awards for “Best African Rapper/Lyricist,” and “Best Duo or Group in African Hip Hop”.

In the non-voting category, the International Executive Committee of AFRIMA bestowed the “Legend Award” to three iconic Senegalese veterans; Youssou N’dour, Baaba Maal, and Ismail Lo.
The winners across all the other 39 categories were decided by popular votes from music lovers between September 25, 2022 and January 13, 2023. The voting procedure and results were reviewed and collated by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
